My daughter visited recently and remarked that I needed to purge some things. I don’t know what she observed but all I could think of at the time is she should see the basement! I decided she was right.
Two bags of clothes later, and two bags of throwaways later with countless more to go, I have decided with the material bags are also some emotional baggage items also. Here I am going to list some of the silliest items I am pitching or have held onto just so I can laugh at myself. Feel free to let me know some of the items you have held onto (or pitched —whatever).
- A putter head knitted to look like a dog. (It never saw my putter.)
- Newspapers (I couldn’t even figure out why when I saw the stories.)
- Old make up.
- An old watch with a strap broken
- Old recipes
- A coffee grinder
- This is the best Wedding Cards from my first marriage. Ha!
You write beautifully. May I suggest sending a few things into a favorite literary magazine, “The Sun” based out of Raleigh? They have a FB pg where you can check out some of their work.
Lynn,
I am sorry to have such a delay in replying. I am just figuring out all this personal blog thing. I appreciate the tip, and I will get on it.
Sandy
Hey Lynn,
I just received an advertisement from “The Sun” and I thought of you.
Hope things are good.
